Bizarro New Year

It's quite bizarre and I'm not sure what to make of it, but I've been happy, happy, happy everyday. No really, everyday. I'm surrounded by the same ennui, the same unfriendly Bostonians, the same small and big annoyances, and yet I'm madly grinning in the face of it all. Did someone put fairy dust in my champagne? What's goin' on??

Although, I have to say, I think a lot has to do with the essentially two weeks off I had for the holidays. Plus, this year I spent Xmas with my mom, which I haven't done in several years (usually I'm with my grandparents in Dallas). And some of the things my mom does literally makes me burst into fits of giggles. You think I'm goofy? I learned from the master. Not to mention, she lathers me with attention; me being her only child and all.

Oh, and did I mention we were in Vegas?

So, I returned to Boston pretty content a few days before NYE. Then, it was spontaneously decided I would host a NYE soiree at my place before we headed to the main event a block away at Beehive. I was a little stressed out, seeing as I've only had about 3 visitors total since I moved in, oh...about A YEAR AGO. There was LOTS of cleaning to do. But I was still very happy about it all and the soiree was a success. My boyfriend and friends cooked up some awesome appetizers, we drank, we got happy, we mingled, everyone ogled at my tv...what more could you ask for? And if you've seen my flickr page, you can tell we had QUITE the time at the main event.

Somehow all of this goodness has stayed with me. I'm not gonna jinx it and over-analyze it too much. I just sure hope it continues to last.
