Oh Love, love is a lovely word
Believe it or not (I certainly don't), I have been dating my current boo for one full year today. It's been a whirlwind romance. He lifted me from the darkness of a hopelessly mismatched relationship, up to the sunkissed peaks of fervent bliss. (Oh geez, I'm on the verge of writing bad romantic poetry. MUST CHILL.) But it all seems to be spinning before my eyes! It feels like just the other day, we were heading off to our first big vacay together, where I was simply happy to be romping on a beach with a really cute guy. Now, I'm like a cartoon character with hearts instead of pupils in my eyes.
We celebrated the big One with some wine tasting at Les Zygomates last night. One of our best first dates had been at a wine tasting at Sel de la Terre, so it was a gimmee. We laughed, we drank, we chowed, we were finally getting comfortable around each other...a great memory, to say the least. We did those things all over again last night. However, I'm not sure if the first time has been given a special glow due to the circumstances, but I have to say I recommend Terre's over Les Zyg's. Well, first of all, the apps that were paired with the wines were much more filling then the literally bite size portions we were given last night. So, instead of getting winehead, it was a much smoother drinking experience. Plus, last night happened to be Bordeaux whites night. When's the last time you had a Bordeaux white? Exactly. Though, both sommeliers were awesome, I have to say. Really informative, charming, interesting guys. They're both my age, and man, I wish they were somehow in my circle of friends. How freaking awesome would that be? ("Oh, here's a little port from a chateau on the western edge of the Chamois valley. King George V used to drink this nightly apparently. They gave me a free bottle with the last order. It'll go really great with this lamb we're having.")
If that weren't all enough, something sweet and simple was whispered in my ear this morning, and I've been doing nothing but floating through the day since.
