The Old & The Restive

Is this financial crisis turning into one big soap opera or is it just me? In all of the articles I’ve read this morning, the government suits are two timing each other, being deceptive, getting jealous, and kissing to make up only to claw at each other’s faces again. I mean, that’s a typical week on All My Children, right?

In the news this morning, I learned WaMu was sold underhandedly by the government to JPMorgan while the CEO was mid-flight (deception!), coming as a complete surprise to the Board (drama!). And yesterday half the Congress believed a bail-out deal was moments away from being approved only to have some mavericks make a surprise announcement at the White House (the nerve!). Then, everyone starts blaming everyone else (vengeance!); and the Treasury secretary literally kneels in front of Nancy Pelosi to beg for help (sexy! (ok, almost sexy)).

And I haven’t even started in on McCain’s hide and seek regarding the debate tonight. This is getting way more interesting than eonline. NYT is my new gossip fodder. Yeehaw!
